After 25 hours and 3 layovers we safely arrived here in Uganda feeling very much like God’s hand was on us. Every flight landed early, making a couple tight transfers much less stressful, and when we saw our luggage on the carousel we were extremely grateful for God answering our prayers.
Our first day here in Uganda has been a good one. We started the morning meeting friends from New York who happen to be here doing some evangelism work this week. They introduced us to a couple running a non-profit that helps supply grain to widows. It is a very powerful and inspiring story and a great way to start our trip. We followed that with an amazing worship service at Watoto Church where they celebrated The Uganda Declaration. In 2012 Uganda celebrated their 50th year as a country. The Declaration calls Uganda to confess the sins of their past, return to God and seek His blessing. As always, the worship was phenomenal and the message very moving. Our day concluded by spending time with Innocent, our extension worker on the amaranth project, and meeting our dear friend, Francis, and his family for dinner. We are still struggling to get adjusted to the time zone but we are excited for the next couple days here in Uganda!
