Today was quite possibly the highlight of our trip as we visited our amaranth farm in western Uganda and enjoyed a “First Fruits” picnic celebration with almost 100 people who have been working in the fields for us the past several months. Bill was able to share a message with them from Deuteronomy 26 where God calls His people to give back to Him the first portions of the harvest He has given them. We shared with them that we are here in Uganda because we live by that principle at PacMoore and we wanted to encourage them to do the same thing. We also had some PacMoore t-shirts made with a verse from Acts 1:8 on the back. We gave everyone of the workers a t-shirt in hopes of making them feel truly a part of our PacMoore family. In addition to the picnic we were also able to see some of the harvest that was happening in the fields. It was inspiring to see how hard the people were working and we have a renewed energy to help find ways to make things more efficient and less demanding on the people. These farmers are such good people and full of joy and life. While we feel called to be here to help them, the reality is they end up being a blessing and inspiration to us along the way. We are thankful for God connecting us to these precious people through work!
