What We Do and Why We Do It
Like many businesses today, at PacMoore we like to distinguish between “what” we do and “why” we do it. Our “what” is delivering exceptional service and solutions (including dry blending, extrusion, spray drying, consumer packaging and other services) to our customers as a contract food manufacturer with a goal of one day feeding the world. Our “why” is life transformation and a passionate focus on growing people. Not only do we feel responsible for creating an environment and culture within PacMoore that will allow us to be successful at both of those aims, we also take great joy in supporting local organizations that have a similar focus and passion for changing lives.
Stability First – Providing a Foundation
On Saturday, June 17, we had the pleasure of doing just that by participating in the first annual “Step Into Stability 5K” sponsored by Stability First in Martinsville, IN. Martinsville is a town about 15 minutes from our Mooresville, IN location and it is home to a number of our employees. Stability First is an organization that is committed to helping women gain stability as they seek to move away from a difficult situation or a troubled past and into a brighter and better tomorrow. Their primary focus is to provide women with safe, temporary housing in a loving environment as they seek a sustainable long-term solution. As their name indicates, Stability First is all about helping provide a foundation upon which these women can truly experience life transformation.
As I thought back to some of the most difficult situations I have faced in my life, I realized I have always taken for granted the stability that having a home and family has provided me. I honestly don’t believe I would be in the situation I am today without that foundation. My guess is you may say the same thing. It is truly heart breaking to know so many women do not have this support underneath them, and it is a tremendous honor for PacMoore to partner with Stability First in changing the lives of the women in our local community.
Thanks for Supporting Your Community!
To the right is a picture of the PacMoore team that participated in the 5k. We are grateful to have such wonderful employees that love coming out and supporting their community and other organizations. We were blessed with a beautiful morning and everyone enjoyed the fellowship and opportunity to connect outside of work. It was especially fun for our Director of Supply Chain Management, Adam Rawlins, who grew up in Martinsville and basically served as a tour guide throughout the 3.2 mile journey.
We are also proud to say several of our team members performed exceptionally well and represented PacMoore by taking home some hardware. Donnie Ballard, the son of our employee Michelle Monroe, placed 2nd overall with an incredible time of 20:27.76. Additional award winners were Melody Gentry, Susie Moore and Adam Rawlins, who all placed second in their respective (and non-disclosable) age groups.
