The new year is a wonderful time to think about new beginnings. For PacMoore one of those new beginnings is a chance to explore the opportunity of developing a food processing facility in Ethiopia. Bill and I are making our first ever trip to Ethiopia with a group of 7 other individuals who comprise a total of 4 companies. We have come together to form a group focused on food security solutions. As many of you know, PacMoore has been working in Africa for 5 years but to this point we have focused on Kenya and Uganda. Through some partnerships that have been developed in the United States, an opportunity to help provide relief food to the country of Ethiopia (and ultimately other neighboring countries as well) has presented itself.
The first 2 days have been filled with meetings of government officials and visiting two food processing facilities including Abbay International which currently produces relief food as well. So far we have been very well received by everyone we meet and we are quickly becoming fans of Ethiopia and the people here. There are immense opportunities for food and manufacturing and the country is very progressive in seeking to grow in those areas. We have two more full days of meetings to come. We pray for continued wisdom and guidance and for the opportunity to share the love of Jesus with the people while we are here.
