On Tuesday, May 20, PacMoore Products President and CEO, Bill Moore and Director of Business as Mission, Scott Pothoven landed in the country of Haiti, thus adding yet another country to PacMoore’s expanding work around the globe. The trip was in conjunction with the work of Mission of Hope – Haiti which is a not-for-profit organization based in the United States that has done some extraordinary work in Haiti for the past 16 years.
The mission of MOH-Haiti is to help bring life transformation to every man, woman and child, a vision very much in line with PacMoore’s heart and purpose. MOH does this primarily through orphan care, education, church planting, pastor training and medical care. Included in their work is the distribution of 90,000 pre-packaged meals of beans and rice per day. This is where PacMoore can help bring solutions and change.
It is the belief and goal of the team at MOH and PacMoore that these meals, currently packaged in the U.S. by groups such as Feed My Starving Children, can and should be packaged in Haiti, by Haitians. As is the case in almost all underdeveloped nations, the real need is for jobs and the creation of an economy. It is our belief that in partnering with MOH we can help make that a reality in Haiti.
The purpose of this trip was really to get a better understanding of the need, the opportunity and the business climate. It is now time to put in the hard work of market testing, business planning and strategizing. After spending only two short days in Haiti we are excited to think about the opportunity the Lord has given us to work with MOH in bringing life transformations through work! Please pray for the amazing work of MOH-Haiti and for the opportunity PacMoore has to help create jobs and bring Jesus Christ to the people through work.
